
The emu ostrich or Struthio camelus is a flightless bird species native to Africa belonging to the genus Struthio. Its long neck and legs, and its ability to run at speeds of approximately 55 km/h, are its most distinctive features. Capable of reaching 70 km/h in short bursts, the species is the fastest bird on land. It is also the largest living bird and the largest living dinosaur. When they feel threatened, they can move away or deliver a serious blow with their powerful legs. Their legs can only kick forward.
