Camels are two domesticated species in the genus Camelus of the family Camelidae. Camels are used for draught and riding animals as well as for their wool, milk, skin, and meat. These animals, known only in their domestic forms, have undergone little change since their wild ancestors. The two types of camels are the single-humped dromedary camel (C. dromedarius), bred in South Asian countries such as India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Egypt, Iran, Syria, and Arabia, and the double-humped Bactrian camel (C. bactrianus), bred in Central Asia.
