
It is named zebra because it is decorated with horizontal gray-blue stripes. Females are larger than males. Their length is around 5-6 cm. It is an active fish that swims in schools. It is found in slow-flowing streams and ponds. They live in India, Madron, and Bengal. The water must be clean and well-oxygenated. The water temperature should be 23-25°C. It is very prolific. Small round pebbles or marbles are placed on the bottom of the aquarium to prevent the fish from eating the eggs. The eggs hatch in 3 days, and the fry start free swimming after a week.
