Silver Barb

The front of the body is golden yellow, and the other parts are silver. In males, it is yellowish, and in females, it is reddish. The fins are rose-colored in males and colorless in females. The fins range from orange to brick red. They live in mountain forest streams in Ceylon, mainly in areas with little current, in lakes, ponds, and water bodies, and small streams. They are common in Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia. They spawn freely. They prefer to spawn in the morning. The eggs are the size of millet grains. The spawning dance lasts about an hour. The water temperature is 23–26°C.
