Pumas are carnivores from the Felidae family. Also known as mountain lions or cougars, they live in North and South America. These large, solitary cats prefer to live in high mountains and dense forests. They tend to stay away from humans. Known for their excellent hunting abilities, pumas have strong muscles and large claws that allow them to easily prey on animals larger than themselves.
