The Fallow Deer or Dama dama is a non-migratory, herd-forming, paddle-antlered, and spotted nocturnal deer species from the Cervidae family. The only place in the world where the purest wild fallow deer are found is Antalya, and the local people also call them spotted deer. Over centuries, people have spread them throughout Europe. They do not naturally occur beyond the western coasts of Iran in Asia. Domesticated and semi-domesticated populations of this species are popular in natural parks and protected hunting grounds, especially in Europe. Wild fallow deer are very skittish and can easily lose themselves in the forest at the slightest sound. Their lifespan is about 12 years.
